1 Elder John Strong b 1610 in Chard, Somerset, England; d 14 Apr 1699 at Northampton, MA. Emigrated to Dorchester, MA, 1630 on the Hopewell with his wife, Margery DEANE, dau of William DEANE, d abt 1635 in England;
m 2nd Dec 1630, Abigail FORD, of Dorchester, MA, who d 16 Jul 1688, Northampton, MA. Dau of Thomas FORD and Elizabeth Chard COOKE. She emigrated with her family on The Mary and John in 1630. They are bur in Bridge Street Cemetary, Northampton, MA.

1635-Hingham, MA: Land granted, 18 Sept 1635, for five acres of land on North Street near Ship Street, Hingham, Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts; Freeman on 9 Mar 1636/37

1638-Taunton, MA: House lot on Dean Street West of John Dean house. Freeman of Plymouth Colony 4 Dec 1638. First Constable, 1638 and 1639, juror 1645.

1641, 1643, 1644-John Strong was Deputy from Taunton to the General Court in Plymouth.

1647-Windsor, CT: 4 Feb 1647 "Thomas Thornton al his land formerly recorded in figures sold to Thomas Ford and John Strong where the particulars fully apperar..."
Included were a house, out house, yards, orchards and gardens containing about two acres (Windsor Register of Deeds)

1654-Freeman 15 May 1654 of Connecticut

1660-Northampton, MA: 14 Oct 1660 John Strong bought from John Webb, a parcel of land lying in the Third square and bounded by land of Richard Lyman on the north and the highway on the south and on the sides bordering the land of David Wilton on the east by Samuel Allyn on the west - seven acres

1663-John Strong was ordained an Elder of the church.

9 Abigail STRONG (John1) b abt 1645; d 15 Apr 1704; m 1st 12 Nov 1673 Rev Nathaniel CHAUNCEY son of Rev Charles Chauncey and Catherine EYRE b 1639 Plymouth, MA; d 4 Nov 1685 Hatfield, MA. Nathaniel was a 1661 graduate of Harvard and preached at Windsor, CT from 1666-1678 and then at Hatfield 1679-1685. Abigail's tombstone

Abigail m 2nd Deacon Medad POMEROY of Northampton, (son of Eltweed POMEROY) bap 19 Aug 1638; d 30 Dec 1716. Meadad was a teacher, selectman, town clerk, rep to the General court and considered a man of influence and wealth. 21 Catherine CHAUNCEY (Abigail9, John1) b 12 Jan 1676; d 15 May 1754; m 29 Aug 1699 Rev Daniel BREWER III, son of Daniel BREWER Jr. and Hannah MORRILL; b 7 Feb 1668; d 5 Nov 1733. Daniel was a 1687 graduate of Harvard and settled in Springfield, MA.

24 Rev. Nathaniel CHAUNCEY, Jr. (Abigail9, John1) b 26 Sep 1681; d 8 Feb 1756; m 12 Oct 1708 Sarah JUDSON, dau Capt James JUDSON and Rebecca WELLES; b 16 Feb 1683; d 31 May 1745. Nathaniel was a 1702 graduate of Yale.

m 2nd Elizabeth WEBB, dau Rev Joseph WEBB of Fairfield, CT.
Rev Pomeroy graduated 1705 from Yale; 1708 went to Newton, Queens County, New York. Served in Congregational and then Presbyterian Church.
