FUNERAL IS HELD FOR KATHERINE N. GRENZ

    Funeral services were held yesterday for Mrs. Katherine N. Grenz who passed away in Sacramento Friday, at the chapel of Hale & Bawden with interment in Lodi Cemetery.  She was a former resident of Lodi, a native of Germany aged 85 years.

    She was the widow of the late Samuel Grenz and mother of Harry, Emiel, Jules, John and Daniel Nathan, all of Sacramento.

    Rev. R. Birk officiated at the last rites.  Many old friends attended to pay last respects.  The pallbearers were A. Blumenthal, C. Cuppith, G. Waith, George Meitler, C. H. Seuss and B. Nystrom.

DEATH TAKES LYDIA NATHAN IN LODI HOME

    Mrs. Lydia Nathan passed away at the family home at 436 Railroad Ave. At an early hour yesterday morning.  She was born in Russia and was aged 51 years.

     The deceased came to the United States with her parents when she was a small child.  They settled in South Dakota, where she married.  She came to Lodi with her husband, the late Richard Nathan about 20 years ago.

     Mrs. Nathan was the mother of Mrs. Irene Paez of San Francisco; Miss Edna Nathan, Oakland; Henry and Dan Nathan, Lodi; sister of Henry and William Grenz, both of Elk Grove.

     Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Pentecostal Church of Lodi with Hale & Bawden in charge of arrangements.

MANY AT FUNERAL FOR
MRS. LYDIA NATHAN

    Many attended the funeral services yesterday afternoon for Mrs. Lydia Nathan held at the First Pentecostal Church with Rev. W. R. Pair officiating.

    Interment was in Lodi Cemetery under the direction of Hale & Bawden.  The pallbearers were B. H. Wales, J. A. Klemen, J. J. Oswald, William Fisher, John Newhart and G. A. Brodehl.

RICHARD NATHAN DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS

     Richard Nathan passed away in Lodi at an early hour this morning after a lingering illness.  He had lived in Lodi for the past four years.  He was a native of Russia and had resided in the United States for 40 years.

    He leaves to mourn a wife Mrs. Lydia Nathan, and four children, Irene, Edna, Henry, and Daniel, all of Lodi.

    The remains are at the Funeral Home of Hale & Bawden.  Arrangements the ___ burial will be announced later.

DANIEL NATHAN

Daniel Nathan, 77, of Lodi died Aug. 11 at a local hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born Oct. 20, 1917 in Lodi. Mr. Nathan was raised in Lodi and moved to Kansas. He returned to Lodi on Aug. 2, 1995. He worked for C.C. Camp and for a short time, with Palm Iron Works in Sacramento. He later worked for many years for Phillips 66 Petroleum Co. He worked as an engineer, while with the Merchant Marines. Mr. Nathan was a member of Lodi Christian Life. He is survived by two sisters, Irene Paez of San Francisco and Edna Francis of Lodi; and one brother Henry Nathan of Stockton. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lodi Memorial Cemetery. Visitation may be made from 5 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lodi Funeral Home.
