CARL DEGEN DIES AT 72 

Carl Joseph Degen, 72, formerly of 12 Parrott St., died in a Vallejo Hospital after a long illness.

A native of Jamestown, N.D. he had lived in Vallejo for 50 years.  He retired from Mare Island Naval Shipyard as a rigger in 1961 after 34 years of service.

He is survived by a brother, Bernard Degen, Oakland and 2 sisters, Mrs. Theresa Tanata, Minnesota and Leona McClain, Georgia.

A catholic Prayer Service will be conducted in Twin Chapel at 11am Saturday with Interment at Mary's Cemetery, Yolo.

Services for Leona Degen will be held at 10am tomorrow morning from Twin Chapel in Vallejo, with graveside services following at 11:30 am at Mary's Cemetery in Yolo.  Kraft Brothers funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Degen is survived by her husband Carl of Vallejo, plus three brothers and a sister: Julius Lunde of Sacramento, Clarence Lunde of Seattle, Alfert Lunde of Woodland, and Mrs. Lucille Patton of Oakland.  Mrs. Degen was born and reared in Oakland.
