Veronica Prodzinski, 77,
Buchanan, N.D., died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, at Innovis Hospital,
Fargo, N.D.
Veronica Leona Cebula was born
June 28, 1925, on the family farm in Ashland Township, near Fried, N.D.,
the daughter of Frank and Anna (Marynik) Cebula. She grew up on the
family farm and attended Ashland Township School. Following her
education, she worked on the family farm and also helped on the Gengler
family farm at harvest time. She married Alex Prodzinski on Oct. 5,
1949, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fried. They lived on the
Prodzinski family farm in Ashland Township. In 1981 they moved to a home
near Fried. He died Aug. 17, 1996. She was a member of Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, Fried, and the Young-at-Heart Senior’s Club,
Courtenay, N.D. She enjoyed crafts, crossword puzzles and fishing.
She is survived by two sons,
Dennis, Buchanan, and Eugene (Kathy), Avon, Minn.; four daughters, Betty
Prodzinski, Angie Prodzinski and Carol (Joel) Lees, all Buchanan, and
Cindy (Rod) Morlock, West Fargo, N.D.; a sister, Emily Roach, Jamestown;
seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; husband; a son, Gary; a daughter-in-law, Deb; three brothers,
Fritz, Joe and Leonard; and an infant brother, Johnnie.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday,
Sacred Heart Church, Fried.
Prayer service: 7 p.m. Sunday, Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fried. |

Regina Prodzinski, 98, San
Francisco, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, in San Francisco.
Regina Bashinski was born Feb.
28, 1908, in Wisconsin, the daughter of Roman and Helen (Lordeck)
Bashinski. She grew up and attended school in the Pingree, N.D., area
and graduated from Pingree High School. She graduated from State
Teachers College, Stevens Point, Wis. She taught school in North Dakota.
She married Stanley Prodzinski on July 3, 1934, at St. Michael’s
Catholic Church, Pingree. They lived in Buchanan, N.D., where he
operated Prodzinski Hardware and later owned an implement business. In
1939, they moved to Portland, Ore. In 1951, they returned to North
Dakota and lived on the family farm in Ashland Township. They retired
from farming in 1968 and moved to Buchanan. He died in 1969. She moved
to San Francisco. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Fried, N.D.,
and served as president of the Altar Society for seven years.
She is survived by a sister,
Frances McNamara, San Francisco.
She was preceded in death by her
husband, parents and two sisters.
Services: were held Tuesday, St.
Stephen’s Catholic Church, San Francisco.
Burial: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fried. |

Funeral
Services Held Thursday For Teofil Prodinski
Pioneer of Buchanan Laid to Rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery
Requiem high mass for Teofil
Prodinski, pioneer of Stutsman County, who passed away at midnight
Monday, were held from the Sacred Heart Catholic church at Fried
Thursday morning.
Rev. John Somerfeld, pastor of
the Catholic church at Buchanan was celebrant; Rev. Lawrence Hebert,
assistant pastor of St. James Catholic church here was the deacon; Rev.
J. J. Stempel of the Fried church the sub-deacon. The
funeral was one of the largest funerals ever held in Fried.
Members of the church choir sang under the direction of Mrs. Conrad
Gospador.
Rev. Stempel spoke of the
sterling character of the deceased and of his work in helping to build
up the community. Many people came from long distances to attend
the services.
Burial was made in the cemetery
at Fried. Pallbearers were M. Degen, August Gruchalla, Frank
Nogosek, A. Rudnick, Peter Albright and William Neyes. |

Lorraine Schwartz, 79, Jamestown,
died Friday, April 6, 2007, at her home under hospice care.
Lorraine Marie Prodzinski was
born March 27, 1928, on the family farm at Fried, N.D., the daughter of
Edward and Louise (Degen) Prodzinski. She grew up in the Fried and
Kensal, N.D., area. She received her education in Kensal rural schools
and attended high school at Kensal for two years before she graduated
from Jamestown High School in 1946 after the family moved back to her
grandparents’ homestead at Buchanan, N.D. She worked for Dr. Starr
until she married Adrian Schwartz on Nov. 10, 1948, at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, Fried. They farmed in the Fried area. She was a
homemaker and later worked for Stutsman County in the Register of Deeds
office, Treasurer’s office and Auditor’s office for 30 years until
she retired in 1994. He died Dec. 2, 1991. In 1995, she moved into
Jamestown. She was a member of St. James Basilica, Jamestown, and a
former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Altar Society. She
enjoyed remodeling houses and flower gardening.
She is survived by three sons,
Terrence and David ( Donna), both Jamestown, and James, Nashville,
Tenn.; a daughter, Kathleen (Mark) Anderson, Mapleton, N.D.; three
brothers, Donald (Patsy), Salem, Ore., Melvin (Beverly), Milford, Utah,
and Harold (Jan), Seattle, Wash.; a sister, Phyllis Leysring, Bismarck,
N.D.; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, husband and a brother, Richard.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, All
Souls Prairie Chapel, formerly Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at
Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
Prayer service: 7:30 p.m. today, Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.
Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fried.
