Dennis R. Rithmiller, 51, Ellendale, N.D., died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at Oakes Community Hospital, Oakes, N.D.

Mr. Rithmiller was born July 26, 1953, in Aberdeen, S.D., the son of Dan Jr. and Viola (Jerke) Rithmiller. He graduated from Monango (N.D.) High School in 1972 and North Dakota State School of Science, Wahpeton, in 1974. In May 1974 he began employment at Blumhardt Chevrolet, Ellendale, and continued to work there as service manager until his death. He married Colleen Grimm on March 15, 1980, in Aberdeen. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Ellendale, and Aberdeen ABATE, where he was a past officer. He was a volunteer and maintenance person for the Ellendale Fire Department. He enjoyed bowling, riding motorcycles, working on vehicles, backpacking, camping in the mountains, helping area farmers, his annual trip to Sturgis, S.D., for the bike rally, remodeling his house and making German food.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Andy and Dean, both Ellendale; a daughter, Kayleen Rithmiller, Ellendale; his mother, Oakes; a brother, Bob (Elaine), Valley City, N.D.; three sisters, Betty (Roy) Schlecht, Jamestown, and Peggy (Clayton) Wetzel and Pam (Zeke) Waldner, both Oakes.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Zion Lutheran Church, Ellendale, with the Rev. Dennis B. O�Neill officiating.
Prayer service: 7:30 p.m. today, Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale.
Visitation: 2 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.
Burial: Ellendale City Cemetery, Ellendale.
