GRACE BARBER
Grace Ellen Garber, 83, a Modesto resident since 1905, died yesterday in a local hospital following a brief illness
A native of Kansas, she moved to California as an infant. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors are daughters Viola Beam of Georgetown, El Dorado County, Alta Dooley and Analea Dias, both of Modeata, and Hazel Bispo of San Leandro, A son, Stanley Garber, now of Santa Rosa; 14 grandchildren; 37 gret-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Salas Brothers Funderal Chapel. Burial will be in Modesto Cemetery.
The family suggests remembrance be to the Church of Christ sponsored Parkview Christian Estates building Fund.

     OBITUARY ABSTRACT

Gottlieb Harr was sick for 11 months; the cause of death was "sarcoma." In 1908 he married Katharina Miller and with her had 11 children. The second youngest, Anna Lenora, died on 19 Dec 1928. The family came to America from Siberia in 1911. He died on Sunday morning, 19 Apr 1942 at age 57 years, 8 months. Survived by his wife; 7 sons: Jakob, Johann, Emanuel, Gottfried, Christian, Adam and Reinhold; 3 daughters: Katharina (Mrs. Enoch Walz), Christina and Ludia; 3 grandchildren; 2 brothers, John and August.
