Prisoner Finds Himself in a Peculiar Position
Young Wife Working for his Release
--------------------

Conrad Bier, the young Russian from Medina, who was recently bound over to the district court on a serious statutory charge preferred by John Gums of that place who discovered that his young daughter was in a delicate condition, and who was released from the custody of the sheriff under bonds of $1,500, has again been returned to jail by his surities who demand that their liability there under be determined. Immediately after his release Bier obtained the consent of the girl's parents and they were married a week or so ago at Moorhead Minn.

At this time Bier finds himself in a peculiar position. States Attorney Thorp is not authorized under the statute to quash the information against the man and the matter will have to be regulary prevented to the district Judge. It is probable therefor, that unless the girl's parents provide bonds for the release of their son-in-law, he will remain in the county Jail until the July term of court-Capital [Lizzie Gums & Conrad Bier were married 13 MAR 1909-per Streeter 1955 Book]
