John Arthur Caughlan is a
retired chemist. In 1944, during World War II,
they moved to Oak Ridge Tennessee where he worked for the Tennessee Eastman
Corp. on the Manhattan project. In June 1946, after the war, Dad found
employment at Mallinckroct Chemical Works in St. Louis, Missouri. He was active in Boy Scouts of America during the years when
children were young and is still extremely active in the Garden Clubs of
America. He was also active in the YMCA Indian Guides with his sons.
He and his wife, Rachel, have been married since 1942. They live in Webster
Groves, Missouri - a suburb of St. Louis. They raised four sons. Both John and
Rachel were active in the Faith Congregational Church in Webster Groves.
