"H.M.S. Duke", Malvern, Worcs. - 1942

    My father, Frank CAWTHORN is 3rd from left on the back row.  
    He was at "H.M.S. Duke" from 29 June 1942 to 6 August 1942.  He was an Air Mechanic 2/cl.

    March 2006 - the instructor (sitting in the centre of the group) is L/S George Edward Wiseman.  
    He enlisted in 1911. He was aboard HMS Marlborough during WW1 (torpedeod at Jutland 1916). 
    Discharged to pension 1936, recalled 1938 aged 43, served on HMS Alcantara in the Atlantic 
    until 1942 then to HMS Duke until 1945. Information from Bill Wiseman, George's son.
