Abelone was bom in Denmark, in 1817. She married Anders Hansen in 1839. She was twenty-two and he was thirty-seven. Their first four children were born in Denmark, the third child was stillborn.

Abelone joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was baptized on July 4. 1852. She and her family left Denmark in December, 1855, for America. They sailed on the ship "'John J. Boyd." There was much sickness and disease, her eleven year old son, Jorgen died and was buried at sea.

They arrived in New York City in February, 1856, then traveled on to St. Louis. Here, her four year old daughter died. and in April, she gave birth to her fifth child.

Her husband was baptized in St Louis, March, 1856. They left Florence, Nebraska, in a wagon train and arrived in the Salt Lake Valley in September. 1856. They settled in Ephraim. Utah.

Abelone passed away in Ephraim. Sanpete County, in May. 1875 at the age of fifty-nine.
