Allen and David came to Washington in Litchfield Co. from Middletown(according to Titus in her book on the Ecclesiastical Society ofJudea), but there is no recorded evidence. It seems more likely thatthey came from Woodbury.
He married before 1725, his 1st 4 children were born in Farmington,1725-1735; the 5th-8th children were born in Woodbury, -1738-1742. Hethen resided in Middletown and later moved to Washington.
He first purchased land in Woodbury in October of 1741, one by QuitClaim from Peter Terrill in the North Purchase and another by warrantfrom Ezra and Paul Terrill in Shepaug (Woodbury Land Records 6:186,fhl film #6151). He was deeded a tract in the Shepaug Meadow by thepropriators, 12 Mau 1742. (6:282).
2. Sold by deed a tract of land along the Shepaug River to EphriamSeely, Feb, 1746, (7:216).
3. Sold by quit claim with Zebulon Loavons (?) a parcel to Capt.JohnBaker, 25 Mar 1747, (7:244)
4. Another quit claim to Capt. John Baker, June 1, 1747 (7:252). 5.About 30 acres along the river to John Woodruff, 18 Feb 1746/7.Another 30 acres in the same area, 30 May, 1743. (7:284)
6. Bought for 185 pounds, ? acres of land from Elisha Stone. (7:302)
