6. Josephine Rosanna 'Josie' Heslet was born on 22 Dec 1859 in Zionville, Boone Co., Indiana. On 19 Mar 1874 when she married Melville Stanley McElvain, in Rossville, Shawnee Co., Kansas. He was born on 3 May 1850 in Henry Co., Illinois. They stayed in Rossville and raised a family. Melville died in Rossville on 30 Dec 1940. Josephine died in Rossville on 3 Apr 1951. They are both buried in the Rossville Cemetery.

7. Jacob B. Heslet was born on 29 Apr 1862 in Zionville, Boone Co., Indiana. He married Nevada Viola Osborne; she was born  12 Jul 1865 in Iowa. They raised 4 children in Kansas and the family moved to California. Jacob died 18 Jun 1943 in Orange Co., California and Nevada died 13 May 1950 in Los Angeles, California.

They had the following children:

i. Golden was born about 1891 in Rossville

ii. Reuben was born 5 Sep 1893 in Rossville and died 24 Apr 1976 in Hacienda Heights, Los Angeles, California

iii. Archie Harold was born 16 Mar 1901 in Rossville  He was a Private in 3 Co 164 Battalion. He died 8 Apr 1949 in Los Angeles and was buried 12 Apr 1949 in Los Angeles National Cemetery.

iv.  Myrtle Louis was born 29 May 1906 in Rossville and died 23 Mar 1981 in San Bernadino, California.

Albert 'Bert' married Rosa, she was born in Jan 1876 in Ohio.

9. Alford Ernest McElvain was born on 2 Dec 1878 in Rossville, Shawnee Co, Kansas. Alford grew up in Rossville,  and on 1 Jun 1905 he married Louise Agatha DeMaris, in St Mary's, Pottawatomie Co, Kansas. Louise was born on 29 Mar 1879 in St. Mary's. Alford and Louise lived in St. Mary's and raised their family. Louise  died on 3 Apr 1951, she was 72;  Alford Ernest died in  on 20 May 1965. They were living in Wamego, Pottawatomie Co., Kansas at the time of their deaths and both are buried in St Bernard's Catholic Cemetery, Wamego.
