In the name of Amen I Moses Orme of Prince Georges County in the province of Maryland being of sound & perfect mind  & memory do on this nineteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy make & publish this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say

 

Item I give & bequeath unto my beloved wife Ann Orme all my dwelling plantation being part of Toogood containing about on e hundred acres also all my personal eof what nature in kind- to her the said Ann Orme for and during her natural life to have & enjoy the full use and benefit thereof during the time aforesaid.

 

Item I give & bequeath to my son Moses Orme after the demise of my wife Ann Orme all my dwelling plantation being part of Toogood and containing one hundred acres be the same now - - the said Moses Orme for and during his natural life after the decease of my wife Ann Orme aforesaid with the full use and benefit – after his my said son Moses Orme decease it is my will – to go to my grandson Samuel Taylor Orme—Orme and I do give the same to him the said Samuel Taylor Orme and to his heirs lawfully begotten forever, but in case the said Samuel Taylor Orme should die without issue that – and in such case it is my desire the said land should go to my son Elley Orme & I do hereby give the same to him and his heirs forever and further it is my intent and desire that if anytime during the – of my son Moses Orme of said land that if he should be of opinion that it would be for the advantage of the legatees before mentioned that this land shall be sold it is my will that he sell and – of the same – do hereby give him full power of authority to convey the same – this – that his estate be answerable and accountable – the aforesaid Samuel Taylor Orme or Elley Orme and their heirs as – happen for the money arising from such sale in that case it is my – my grandson Samuel Taylor Orme or my son Elley Orme or heirs claim anything more than the money arising from such sale.

 

Item    I give & bequeath to my daughter Sarah Mitchell fifteen pounds current money or a negro child whnch she may choose to be paid to her by my Executrix to her the said Sarah Mitchell & her heirs forever and it is my intent that this legacy be in full of all former promises or gifts mad by me- to said daughter Sarah Mitchell & it is my further desire that if my said daughter Sarah Mitchell or her heirs should contest for any such former promises or gifts made to her that she & her heirs forfeit the above legacy.

Item     I give & bequeath to my daughter Ann Reynolds after the decease of my wife Ann Orme a negro by called Jacob to her the said Ann Reynolds for and during her natural life & after her decease I give the said negro boy called Jacob to my granddaughter Elenor Reynolds daughter of the said Ann Reynolds and her heirs forever

Item     I give & bequeath to my daughter Rebeccah Miles after the decease of my wife Ann Orme a negro woman named Hannah and her increase to her the said Rebecca Miles for and during her natural life and after her decease I give the aforesaid negro woman Hannah and her increase to my two sons Nathan Orme & Jeremiah Orme to them & their heirs for use to be equally divided between them by my friend Major Joseph Sim.

 

Item     I give & bequeath to my daughter Mary Selby one negro girl called Grace now in possession of John Inouses to her this Mary Selby & her heirs forever

Item     I give & bequeath to my two sons Nathan & Jeremiah Orme after the decease of my wife Ann Orme four negros viz Jos. Judy Hercule & Moss----divided between them as they shall agree to—Nathan Orme & Jeremiah Orme & their heirs forever

Item     I give & bequeath to my son Nathan Orme after the decease of my wife Ann Orme two ewes and two lambs

Item     I give & bequeath to my son Jeremiah Orme after the decease of my wife Ann Orme a feather bed & furniture for the same.

Item     I give & bequeath to my sons Philip Orme & Elley Orme after the decease of my wife Ann Orme my four negroes viz Tony, Will, Beck & Agnos & their increase and also all remaining part of my personal estate of what nature and kind – to them the said Philip Orme & Elley Orme & their heirs forever after the  decease of my wife Ann Orme as aforesaid to be divided equally between them by my friend Major Joseph Sim.

 

Lastly I do constitute and appoint my beloved wife Ann Orme Executrix of this my las will & testament by me and in the presence of the under subscribing witrnesses who are especially called on this occasion in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal the day & year before mentioned.
