William Woodford Stallings was born on 6 Mar 1851 in Lewisburg, Conway Co., Arkansas son of Samuel and Malvina. He lived in Arkansas until sometime before 25 Jun 1870 when he was living in Leaches District, Bullitt Co., Kentucky in the household of W.W. Simmons.

On 27 Aug 1878 he first married Isola 'Lola' Swearingen, in Bullitt Co., Kentucky. She was born about 1854 in Bullitt Co., Ky. They lived in Leaches where they had one daughter Patty who was born in 1881 and married J. C. Showalter. Patty died in 1949.

On 1 May 1896, he second married Lila F. Weller. She was born in 1868 in Bullitt Co., Kentucky. They lived in Shepherdsville where William was a farmer and owned his farm. In 1906 and 1908 William served as Assessor of  Bullitt Co., Kentucky. In 1911 he was Deputy Assessor. In 1920 he was a rural route mail carrier.

William W. died in Jefferson Co., Kentucky on 10 Feb 1929. Lila died in Jefferson Co., Kentucky in 1958. They are both buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Jefferson Co., Ky.

William and Lola had the following children:

i. Chester Lee was born on 8 Feb 1897 and died on 6 Apr 1902.

ii. Huber Clay was born on 10 Sep 1898 and died on 8 Apr 1902.

iii. Mary M. was Born on 7 Mar 1902. On 3 Jun 1928 she married Ben Morris Beber, in Bullitt Co., Kentucky. Mary died on 11 Dec 1957.

iv. Thomas Day was born on 20 Apr 1903 in Bullitt Co., Ky.  He died in Jefferson Co., Ky on 4 Jan 1939 and is buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Jefferson Co., Ky.

v. Samuel 'James' was born on 7 Apr 1905 in Bullitt Co., Ky.

On 25 Nov 1930 he married Edna Bauer, in Bullitt Co., Ky. Edna was born on 22 May 1906. Samuel died in Louisville, Jefferson Co., Ky on 11 Oct 1999, he was 94. Samuel and Edna 3 sons: Samuel James, William W. (1940-1943) and George Robert
