"Tavia" Bateman was born October 1, 1863, in Morgan County, Illinois. Tavis was married twice. Her first husband was William Hestain Whittington and her second husband was Dr. Josiah H. Dodge. She had no children by either husband. She died in 1955 and is buried at Herrick Cemetery, Shelby County, Illinois.

"Hessie" Whittington was first married to Della May Miller. They had two children one of whom was Ray Miller Whittington. Hessie was born in 1863 and died April 11, 1935 at age 72.

Tavia and Dr. Josiah H. Dodge were married May 4, 1893, in Sangamon County, Illinois.(1)
