I like to believe that I have the largest Amelung database in the world - that being my maiden name. I have several family histories which are unrelated to my own but wanted to post them here for others to use. I hope you find them helpful.

Heinrich Christian Amelung
was born December 01, 1787 in Salzgitter, Germany, and died July 29, 1845
in Eckenforde, Germany. This family resided in Arhaus, Denmark mostly.
He married Louise Charlotte Bouvanter.

Christian Amelung was born 1766-1767 in
Schaumburg, Germany, and died
February 08, 1827 in Beckedorf, Schaumburg, Germany. He married Engel Maria
Latwesen 1789 in Godehardi Church of Beckedorf, Germany, daughter of Hans
Latwesen and Maria Wilkening.
Harbort Amelung was
born 1430, and died 1492 in Germany. Through this line John Friedrich Amelung the
Glassmaker is descended. Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Amelung was born
June 26, 1741 in Heitlingen, Germany, and died November 21, 1798 in Baltimore (New
Bremen), Maryland. This line is also referred to as the "Hameln Amelungs"
or the "Glassmaker Amelungs".

Amelung was born 06 Mar 1784 in Wenzen, Germany, and died 05 Aug
1852. He married (1) Engel Katherine Jahns before
1814. She died Unknown. He married (2) Sophie
Christina Munke Bef. 1817. She was born 1793 in Greene, Germany,
and died Unknown.
August Carl Heinrich
Amelung was born before 1838. He married (1) Johanna Henne. He married (2) Sophia Christine Munke.
Hans Andreas Amelunke
was born in Bornum, Germany, and died August 28, 1757 in Königsdahlum, Germany.
He married Hedewig Schieber April 22, 1714 in Königsdahlum, Germany, daughter of
Kothsaß Hans Scheifer. She died February 14, 1749/50 in Königsdahlum, Germany.
This line settled in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and went by the name
AMELUNKE.
Johann Christof Amelung
was born sometime before 1756 in Germany. Although the location is currently unknown, it
is most probably close to the Seesen-Rhüden (Harz) area. He married Ilse Marie
Hauenschild before 1774 and it is estimated that she was born before 1756. They
had five (5) children, all born in Seesen-Rhüden, Braunschweig, Germany. Descendants of
this line go by AMELUNKE and AMELUNG. They ultimately settled in Gordonville,
Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, U.S.A.

Christian Amelung of Pilot Knob,
Missouri was born 26 Sep 1832 in Klein Rhüden (Seesen), Germany near the Harz
Mountains. He immigrated to Jackson, Cape Girardeau County, Missouri around
1846-1847 with his parents, Christian
Amelunke and Johanne Marie Friederike Klusmann (Klußmann).
Having received Engineering/Machinist training at Iron Mountain, MO,
he worked for the Iron Ore Company in Pilot Knob, MO at their Furnace.
He lived in Pilot Knob, Iron County, Missouri the remainder of his life
with his wife,
Johanna Marie Magdalene Bodenstein.
Friedrich Cord Heinrich
Amelung was born 1788 in Wendlinghausen, Lippe, Germany, and died
1844 in Spork, Lippe, Germany. He married Anne Marie Dorothea Elisabeth
Wesemann 1816 in Hillentrup, Lippe, Germany. She was born 1790 - 1793 in
Stumpenhagen, Lippe, Germany.
Johann Diedrich Amelung
was born before 1800 in Preu�en. He married (1) Maria Catharina Steffen.
She was born before 1800. He married (2) Louise Catharina E. Hasemann
September 18, 1823 in Evangelisch Kirche, Deilinghofen, Westfalen, Preußen.
She was born before 1805 in Preußen. Also included is: Johann Diedrich Amelung
born before 1747 whom I believe is related although I don't know how yet.
He married (1) Elies Hunold. She was born before 1747.
He married (2) Cath. Elies. Schutte. She was born before 1753.
Johann Heinrich Amelung
was born November 03,
1826 in Thedinghausen, Preußen and died December 18, 1895 in St.
Louis City, Missouri. He married Henrietta Seppen before 1850, daughter
of Bernard Dietrich Seppen. She was born August 1829 in Gomen, Preußen.
William Ameling
was born circa 1847
in Prussia, Germany and died in St. Louis, Missouri.
Johann Henrich "Henry" Amelunck/Amelung
was born circa 1782
in Prussia, Germany and died in Krakow, Franklin County, Missouri.
He married Anna Catharina Elisabeth Schleiker. They had a son named Philipp Amelung who
married Sophia Trentmann and also lived in Krakow, Missouri. I call this
lineage the Washington, Missouri Amelungs.

was born October 30, 1790
in Rotterdam, Zuid Holland, Netherlands, and died April 04, 1868 in Rotterdam,
Zuid Holland, Netherlands. He married Frederika Johanna Tieman. She
was born September 1793 in 's-gravenhagen, and died December 31, 1873 in
Rotterdam, Zuid Holland, Netherlands.
Behrend Almeling was born 1811 in
Prussia, Germany. He married Dorothea Wilhelmine Margaret Backhaus. She was born
21 Sep 1813 in Prussia, Germany, and died 21 Sep 1905 in New Melle, St. Charles County,
Missouri.
Johann Wilhelm Amlung
was born
before 1771. He married Anna Maria Gutwein[in]. She was born before 1771,
and died unknown. This family attended the Evangelisch Church in Edenkoben, Pfalz, Bayern.
Maurice Robert Wilhelm Ambelang
was born Sep 1845 in Nordhausen, Prussia, and died 18 Dec 1909 in Cascade, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. He immigrated from Bremen, Germany to New York, New York on 20 Dec 1869. He married Magdalena Reinwand circa 1875 in Wisconsin. She was born 13 Jun 1853 in Mosel, Wisconsin, and died 18 Aug 1932 in Cascade, Sheboygan County, Wisconsin.
Henry Amelung was born 23 Mar 1855 in
Prussia, Germany, and died Aft. 1920 in Wien, Marathon County, Wisconsin. He
married Wilhelmine Luedtke 02 Dec 1876 in Town Maine, Marathon County,
Wisconsin. She was born 03 Jun 1853 in Prussia, Germany, and died 31 Oct 1925
in Wien, Marathon County, Wisconsin.
John Christophe Ameling was born
circa 1823 in Hannover, Germany, and died before 1887 in Louisville, Jefferson
County, Kentucky. He married Pauline Carolina Juliana Sauercroft.
She was born Oct 1828 in Germany, and died after 1900 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky.
Gottfried Henry Amling
was born May 1832 in Saxony, Germany, and died 02 Dec 1918 in Oak Park, Cook County, Illinois.
He married Laurette Christiana Gunther 15 Aug 1858 in DuPage County, Illinois.
She was born May 1841 in Saxony, Germany, and died 24 Apr 1909 in Cook County, Illinois.
