Obituary: Nicholas G. "Nic" Williams, 70, pioneer Aurora automobile dealer and one of the prominently known men of the city died at 4:40 o'clock this morning at his home. 503 Oak Avenue, of heart disease. He had retired from active business in 1927 and had suffering recurrent heart attacks ever since. For many years a grocer with a store at the corner of New York and Ohio streets. Mr. Williams entered the automobile business in 1911, taking over the distribution of Ford cars as the first dealer of the popular make in Aurora. His garage was located where the Crowe Motor company is now located in South street. The automotive industry, then in swaddling cloths, began rapidly to expand and Mr. Williams prospered. He erected the large building at 39-75 South River street, which was used for a time as a garaged then leased to Sears, Roebuck and Co. for their first retails store in the city. The building was vacated years ago for a new store at Fox street and Broadway. Mr. Williams erected the garage building at the southeast corner of South River and Holbrook streets, which he occupied for five years and then leased to the Flatt Tire company. It is now tenanted by the group which formerly operated the Elks garage. Born in Lockport, on a Leap Year's day, Feb. 29,1868, Mr. Williams came to Aurora 43 years ago. He worked for a time in a corset factory, leaving that business to open a grocery he ran for many years. Surviving are his wife, May; a son, Gerald; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. John Waldvogel of Joliet and Mrs. John Blum of Naperville and a brother, John of Plainfield. Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning from the home in Oak avenue and 9:30 from Holly Angels church. Interment will be at Mt Olivet Cemetery. BEACON NEWS JAN 17,1938

Mrs. Clara May Williams, 90 of 520 Grand Ave., died yesterday at the Zane Retirement Home, Winfiled, Illinois. She was born May 1, 1870. Mrs. Williams and her late husband, Nick, operated the first Ford dealership in Aurora and were in business on River street for many years.
Mrs. Williams was the owner of the A & P building which recently burned down.
Surviving are a grandson, Gerald Williams of Ft. Meyer, Fla.; four grand daughters, Mrs Judd (Jane) Clockdale of Downers Grove.
