She married Joseph G. HUCKABY in Thomaston, Upson County, Ga., 10 JUN 1933. Maywood and Joe divorced in the 1940s and Joe produced a stepson, Don Huckaby, by a second wife. He later divorced her and remarried Maywood.

Joseph was born in Prattville, Ala. 1 JUL 1914. He was the son of George HUCKABY. Joe died 16 MAR 1977 in Thomaston, Upson County, Ga., at 62 years of age. His body was interred 18 MAR 1977 in Thomaston, Upson County, Ga., Southview Cemetery. Services were at East Thomaston Baptist Church. Revs. E.C. McDaniel and Don Hammons officiated.
