West Central Georgia Hunts: Third Generation 15. Sarah Elizabeth3 COX ELLINGTON (Margaret2 HUNT, Sarah1)(1) was born in Georgia 6 SEP 1837. Sarah died 22 JAN 1922 in Thomaston, Upson County, Ga., at 84 years of age.(2) On her death certificate, Sarah Ellington is listed as a widowed white female who died at the age of 84 years, four months, 16 days in Militia Dist. 561. Her occupation was listed as houswife. Informant of the death was L.T. Ellington of Thomaston, Ga. The death certificate was filed by registrar G.A. Dallas on Jan. 23, 1922. It indicated she was treated Jan. 10-21 by Dr. J.M. McKinzie and she died at 10 p.m. on the 22nd. The length of her illness was noted as 12 days. There was no surgery or an autopsy Her body was interred after 22 JAN 1922 in Upson County, Ga., Bethlehem Baptist Cemetery.

She married Thomas Jefferson ELLINGTON in Upson County, Ga., 26 OCT 1856. Thomas was born in Putnam County, Ga. 15 MAR 1834. birthdate also given as March 15, 1835. He was the son of Andrew Willerby ELLINGTON and Mariah SHEARBUT Ellington.

Sarah Elizabeth COX Ellington and Thomas Jefferson ELLINGTON had the following children:

child 22 i. Margaret M.4 ELLINGTON Caldwell was born in Upson County, Ga. 1860. She married Robert L. CALDWELL 30 SEP 1879. License issued 3 Sept.

Maggie was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Yatesville, Upson County, Ga., before her marriage.

child 23 ii. Louisa ELLINGTON was born in Upson County, Ga. 1862.

child + 24 iii. John Perry ELLINGTON was born 25 SEP 1865.

child + 25 iv. William E. ELLINGTON was born 25 FEB 1868.

child + 26 v. Lucius Thaddeus ELLINGTON was born 7 FEB 1870.

child + 27 vi. Harvey Wesley ELLINGTON was born 26 SEP 1872.
