She was a spooler in a textile mill; Annie, 16, single and educated but had not attended school since Sept. 1; Grover, 14, had attended school in the past four months and was educate; Alice, 12, also in school and educated; Floyd, 10, in school and educated; Bennie, 8, in school and educated; Edward, 6, in school but could not yet read and write; James, 3 4/12, not in school; Pauline, 1 4/12, not in school and Douglas, 5/12, not in school.
