5. Edward FALLIN (Thomas) was born about 1822 and may have been born as early as 1820. Edward died bef jan 9 1869 in Upson County, Ga..

He married Margaret A. NORRIS Fallin in Upson County, Ga., 5 MAR 1858, according to Upson County marriage records; marriage date also given as April 13.

Margaret was born in Georgia 1830. Margaret died after MAY 1872 in Upson County, Ga. She was the plaintiff in a lawsuit in Upson County, Ga., 9 JAN 1869.

Margaret was the head of a family on the 1870 Census in Thomaston, Upson County, Ga. Mary aret Fallin, widow. M593, R179, p. 155. The index gave her age as 40 and said she was b. in Ga.

Edward was a plaintiff in a court case in Upson County, Ga., APR 1844. He was charged on April 4, 1844 by Cynthia Pender, "a singlewoman," of being the father of her unborn child, "likely to be born a bastard and chargeable to the county." A bastardy warrant was issued April 6 and he was arrested, then discharged without bond, on April 8, "upon refusal to stand committed."

On the 1850 Census in Upson County, Ga., Edward, "18", was grocery keeper living with his mother.

Edward was the head of a family on the 1860 Census in Thomaston, Upson County, Ga., living in a cluster of Fallins. "Edwin" was in HH472, Wm. C in HH473; A.P. in HH 474; then Sarah in HH475. A.J. Pugh, 23, was in HH471 and Jack Fallen was in HH465.

Edward FALLIN and Margaret A. NORRIS Fallin had the following children (the Norris children are either illegitimate or stepchildren who took the Fallin name after Edward and Margaret married).

child 24 ii. S. Norris FALLIN was born about 1848. Not on the 1870 census in Margaret's household.

child 25 iii. J. C. W. Norris FALLIN was born about 1850. Not listed on the 1870 census in Margaret's household.

child 26 iv. O. President Norris FALLIN was born about 1854. He resided in Thomaston, Upson County, Ga. 1 JUN 1870 in Margaret's household. Pres married an Ellington girl and had two girls. A marriage license for Missouri Battle in 1873 was not executed.

On 10 DEC 1882 in Upson County, Ga., P.H. Fallin bought two 20 bushel lots of cotton seed from the Jackson Fallin estate.
