She married George Washington LANGFORD sr in Upson County, Ga., 23 OCT 1835. License received 25 Sept. 1836 by Thomas F. Bethel. Taken from Upson County marriage records; date also given as Oct. 29, 1835.

Wash, Middle initial also given as G., was born in Hancock County, Ga. 1812. He was the son of J. Edmund LANGFORD sr and Joyce Moss WILLINGHAM Langford. He married Malinda H. STUART Langford in Jasper County, Ga., 14 OCT 1838. According to the Pike County History, upon the death of his first wife Wash packed new shoes on his horse, traveled 50 miles to Jasper County, introduced himself to Kitty's Pugh cousin Malinda Stuart, gave her the shoes, married her and packed her (and presumably the new shoes!) onto his horse for the trek back to Upson County. They traveled part of the journey over the Old Alabama Road.

Wash died 1887. His body was interred 1887 in Upson County, Ga., Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery.

He emigrated to Upson County, Ga., about 1824 from Hancock County, Ga.

Wash was an early member of Emmaus Primitive Baptist Church in Upson County, Ga., after 1838.

He resided above Hannah's Mill in Upson County, Ga. after 1838. He purchased the land from his father.

He resided in the Atwater/King's Road area of Pike County, Ga. 1861. Wash was the first of his family to settle in Pike County. He lived two miles south of what is now Highway 109.

Katherine S. FALLEN Langford and George Washington LANGFORD sr had the following child:

22 i. Louisa Katherine LANGFORD was born in Upson County, Ga. 20 SEP 1836, 11 days before her mother's death. Kitt died 1934. Kitt was raised by her grandmother Sarah Pugh Fallin.

An Eliza Catherine Langford married Laban B. Scoggins 8 August 1857 in Upson County, Ga., by Jacob King, M.G. and is believed to be Kitt.
