FALLEN, FALLIN, LANGFORD, MINTER
1. Thomas FALLIN, son of Charles FALLIN IV and Mary FALLIN was born in Lunenberg County, Va. 1780. Thomas died 1828 in Wilkes County, Ga. Death place and date given by Lewis as Jasper County, Ga., in 1825.
He married Sarah PUGH Fallin in Wilkes County, Ga., before 1813. Sarah was born in Wilkes County, Ga. 1791. Birthplace given by Lewis as Jasper County, Ga. She was the daughter of Jehu PUGH and Elizabeth KINMAN Pugh.
Sarah died JAN 1870 in Upson County, Ga. Her body was interred JAN 1870 in Molena, Upson County, Ga., Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery without a grave marker, despite the fact that her will directed her son Asa that she "be buried in a decent and Christian like manner, suitable to my circumstance and condition in life." She was supposedly the first person buried at Smyrna Baptist Church.
She resided in Upson County, Ga. 1829. Sarah was the head of a family on the 1830 Census in Upson County, Ga.
Sarah was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Upson County, Ga., 1847.
Sarah was the head of a family on the 1850 Census in Upson County, Ga.. In 1850 she was 59. Her household included son Edward, 18, a grocery keeper, and granddaughter Catharine Lankford, 14, b. 1836. Sarah was worth $1,300 in real estate.
Sarah was the head of a family on the 1860 Census in Upson County, Ga. She was living alone, census p. 604, Thomaston P.O.
Sarah made a will in Upson County, Ga., 21 DEC 1869.
Thomas FALLIN and Sarah PUGH Fallin had the following children:
+ 2 i. Eliza FALLIN MINTER was born 1813.
+ 3 ii. Jackson FALLIN was born about 1815.
+ 4 iii. Katherine S. FALLEN Langford was born 13 JAN 1818.
+ 5 iv. Edward FALLIN was born about 1822.
+ 6 v. Asa P. FALLIN sr was born about 1823.
+ 7 vi. William Capus FALLIN was born 23 OCT 1825.
A James Fallin was a private with Co. A, 13th Ga. Reg., Confederate Guards, organized in Pike County, Ga., July 8, 1861, and fought with Gordon's Brigade, Army of North Carolina. He served with T.F. Langford, J.J. Minter, H.J. Minter, Burrell Minter, W.C. Minter, John Minter, W.A. Peugh, Wesley Peugh and Chas. Peugh -- all Sarah's kinsmen, indicating this James may belong to this branch of the Fallin family. His parentage is unknown.
