     Richard Riddlesdale was baptized on 13 August 1570 in Boxford, co. Suffolk, England.¹ He married Rose Brand on 17 September 1593 in Groton, England.¹ He died early in 1610, intestate.¹

     His wife Rose was appointed administrator of his estate on 5 June 1610.¹

     Rose Brand married first Richard Riddlesdale, son of Henry Riddlesdale and Joan (?), on 17 September 1593 in Groton, England.¹ She married second John Warren on 23 April 1611 in Nayland, England.¹ She married third Richard Grymes on 20 November 1617 in Boxford, co. Suffolk, England.¹

     Jasper Riddlesdale was probably born about 1490.¹ He married Elizabeth (?).¹ He died near the end of August 1552.¹

     Church records from Boxford, co. Suffolk, England, from 1540 to 1550 show that Jasper Riddlesdale served as churchwarden in 1542-43 and 1547-48, was part of a group that organized a church ale (i.e., fund-raising festival) in 1541, was paid one penny rent for the church house in 1544, and rented a town house at Hagmer from the church.¹
     His will was dated 29 August 1552 and proved on 15 September 1552. He left his house and land called Dove's in Boxford to his son Thomas, who was to pay his (Thomas's) brothers Richard and John £20, £10 within a year and then £3 6s 8d per year for three years, with the money to be held by his executors until they became 21. His farm in Boxford, with crops and livestock, was left to his wife Elizabeth and son Henry, with Henry paying £10 to his (Henry's) brother Robert within a year. His houses and land called Osmonds in Polstead were also left to Elizabeth, then to his son William after her death. His son Peter received £3 6s 8d, and Peter's son Thomas received two sheep. He left 6s 4d each to his sisters Christine Egle and Margery Skott. A "kinswoman" Alice Bygg was left three yards of red cloth, each godchild was to receive 4d, and the poor of Boxford received 3s 4d. He also forgave debts owed him by his son Peter and sister Agnes. The executors were his sons Thomas and Henry, and Thomas Ryvett, parson.¹

     Elizabeth (?) married Jasper Riddlesdale.¹ She died in 1553.¹

     Her will was dated 30 October 1552 and proved on 13 April 1553. She left: £4 to each of her sons Thomas and Peter, to be paid within 1 and 2 years, respectively; £3 to her daughters Grace, Elizabeth, Jane, and Amy, within 3, 4, 5, and 5 years; and £6 and a calf to her sons Robert, Richard, John, and William, within 6, 7, 8, and 9 years. She also left various items of clothing to each of her children. Whatever remained was to go to her son Harry, who was named executor.¹

     Thomas Riddlesdale was probably born about 1522 in Boxford, co. Suffolk, England.¹ He married Joan (?).¹
