John and Elizabeth Wilcox were married near the year of 1806-1807 in England. The exact date is not known. Their nine children were all born in England. They are:

Edra born January 31, 1809 died April 1, 1890 Eliza born February 24, 1811 died August 24, 1867 Robert born October 4, 1813 died October 31, 1897 Thomas born March 10, 1816 died February 5, 1902 Joseph born June 15, 1818 died March 16, 1897 Mary born February 7, 1822 died December 5, 1854 Elizabeth born April 28, 1824 died June 30, 1876

The parents birth and death dates are as follows:

John born November 14, 1779 died October 8, 1853 Elizabeth born April 23, 1784 died October 12, 1869

In the year of 1834 or 1835, two sons of John and Elizabeth Wilcox, Robert and Thomas, left their home in England and came to America to make their future home in a new country. They settled in Mesopotamia, Ohio. They lived there a little over two years. In the fall of 1836, Robert returned to England and spent that winter. In April 1838, he came again to Mesopotamia, bringing with him his Father, Mother and their entire family, with the exception of their oldest daughter, Edra. She stayed behind thinking her folks would not stay, but would come back. She waited three years, then, concluding they meant to stay, married Jessie Griffin in March of 1842, and followed her people to this place, living there until the time of their deaths. JessieGriffin died February 8, 1843, and Edra, April 1, 1890.

Their second daughter, Eliza, was already married to Thomas Difford. They came with her parents, bringing with them their two children, Robert and Hannah, and lived in this town until the time of their deaths. Thomas died January 12, 1875, and his wife, Eliza died August 24, 1867.

Robert was married to Lucy Easton in 1839. He Died October 31, 1897, and Lucy died February 11, 1885. They lived in this town until the time of their deaths.

Thomas married Eliza Dunkerton in January, 1841, and lived in this town the whole of their married life, Thomas dying February 5, 1892, and Eliza March 1, 1902.

Joseph married Sophia Easton in the year of 1848, and settled in Waldo, Wisconsin, spending the whole of their married live there. Joseph died March 16, 1897, and Sophia October 14, 1896, leaving three children, Emory, Lizzie and John, who died a little over a year ago (from 1905). His daughter Rina died June 27, 1905 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We have one other death the past year. That of Anna Walworth at Sioux City, Iowa, July 16, 1905, and was a grand-daughter of Thomas and Eliza Difford.

Mary married George Woodruff in 1842 and died December 5, 1854. George died November 25, 1894.

Elizabeth never married and died in Mesopotamia in June 30, 1876.

Jane married Jonah Gastin in 1851, and went west to live, and died September 12, 1853 at the home of Dr. Tribbe in Platte County, Missouri. We have lost all account of her husband. The last heard of him, he had married again and lived in the state of Kansas.

George Wilcox married Mary Sanderson in March, 1855, and they still live in this town (as of 1905).
