They landed at the Port of Galveston on or about Sept 8, 1883. (From Herman Gustav Schuenemann's "Declaration of Intent" to become a citizen, the date of arrival is shown to be about Sept 29, 1883.) The middle name of August comes from the register at St. Paul's Lutheran Church when he married his third wife, name shown as Karl Aug. Schueneman. The Schueneman name is shown as Sch�nemann on the early papers. He was married to Beulah Wilhelmina Latinsky on 5 Dec 1888 in St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Weesatche, Goliad Co., TX.12 They obtained a marriage license on 3 Dec 1888 in Dewitt Co., TX.12 Notes by Patsy Hand.
