Nathaniel Barrye Hobbs of Dorchester, England was a proprietor
of a mercantile establishment. No mention is given of a his wife but he is listed
as the father of six sons and three daughters. Three sons came to America in
1735. It is believed they sailed from Cardiganshire, Wales.

Vincent HOBBS, Sr.
iv.
John HOBBS. It is
unknown whether this is a brother, uncle or what relationship
he is to the Hobb brothers. William went to NC, while Vincent and Beale remained
in MD for a time. The brothers settled on land bordered by this John Hobbs.
In Jean Hobb's notes, he states: "John and his wife, Dorothy had lived in Maryland since the 1720 era. They had four sons: Samuel, John, Joseph and William."
