Tom - I am always glad to her directly or indirectly from any of the Genoway tribe -- At one time I had a fairly accurate tree of our ancestors, but it disappeared and I cannot locate it. The past four years I have been seriously ill and twice was suppose to die, but didn't. At that time many of my papers were mislaid. However, from memory I can give you the essential details. Two years ago I went east to celebrate my Golden Jubilee as a Doctor. While there I went down into Kentucky to see what was left of my Grand Uncle Peter Genoway's family with whom I had lived while attending the University of Cincinnati. All his children are dead. One daughter-in-law and her daughter are living. Then I went to St. Martin's Ohio, where the Urasline (sic) Convent is located, ear Fayetteville. Here Joseph Genouves and his wife are buried. He came over from France with Lafayette and fought in the Revolution. After the war he and Chevalier, Genet, Resabois, Eubanks and Bumbers, all Catholics, had land grants from Washington and settled near what is now called Fayetteville. They had a priest come from France and start a church there. Joseph, his son, married Rebecca Crumbaugh, settled first in Kentucky and then in Ohio, near Cincinnati. They had two children, Mary Ann and Daniel -- Daniel was my father. My mother died when I was three, then my grandmother Rebecca took me to raise. Her husband died young, so I never knew him. But I knew great Uncles Peter, Samuel and Lewis & Charlotte and Catherine. I have one brother living and two half brothers. On the back I have from memory marked a partial outline. Where do you branch from? Have you my father's authentic history? Glad to hear from you again.
                Kindly yours,
        CV Genoway
