Orten S. Hooker, 85, died at 3:40 p.m. Thursday in Lincolnway Nursing Home.
He was born on Dec. 9, 1899, in Paulding County, the son of Henry and Amanda Brown Hooker. He married Velma Hooker, who died in 1926, and then married Lavada Hooker, who died in 1983.
Mr. Hooker was a retired custodian and carpenter.
Survivors include a son, Billy Gene Hooker of rural Van Wert; a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Betty Jane) Glass of Van Wert; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Lettie Williamson of Paulding.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Alspach Funeral Home, Rev. Duane Rice officiating. Burial will be in Convoy IOOF Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Van Wert Visiting Nurses Association.
