LEO P. NEAL,
78, died at 9:45 a.m. Feb. 22, 2005, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 27, 1926, in Lynch, Ky., to Wallace and Cuey Minerva Johnson Neal, who preceded him in death. He had been married to Opha Jarvis, who survives in Lima.
Mr. Neal was a carpenter and retired from Carpenters Union Local 372. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with Battery B, 50th Field Artillery Battalion.
Survivors also include three children, Leo Neal Jr. of Columbus, Don (Patti) Neal of Lima and Shirley Haymes of Bellefontaine; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Arnold (Emma) Neal of Lima, Billy Ray (Irene) Neal of Wapakoneta and Wallace (Rowena) Neal of Harrod.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Neal; and two brothers Ed and Eugene Neal.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Siferd Funeral Homes, Westwood Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 1275.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and noon until time of services Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
