MARY C. "KATE" PREWETT, 82, Lima, died at 5:15 a.m. July 1, 2003, at her residence.

She was born July 15, 1920, in Allen County to Frank and Mary Dolan Bishop,

who preceded her in death. In August 1937, she married Bernard Giffin, who

died Dec. 31, 1999. In 1962, she married Everett Prewett, who died in

September 1998.

Mrs. Prewett was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church.

She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include four daughters, Judith (Gary) Crawford, Kathleen (Leo) Boop

and Susan Caprella, all of Lima, and Myrna "Pat" Prewett of Homestead, Fla.;

nine grandchildren, Debra (Dennis) Powell, David (Irene) Crawford, Daniel

Crawford, Douglas Crawford, Glenn Crawford, Darrin (Julia) Boop, Ann (Tom)

Hermiller, Larry (Katina) Caprella and Kelli Caprella; a granddaughter-in-law,

Jennifer Crawford; and 12 great-grandchildren, Heather, Amanda, Jodi, Brooke,

Morgan, Logan, Ray, Krista, Brittany, Taylor, Samantha and Larry M.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ellis Prewett; three brothers, Edward,

Robert and Joe Bishop; two sisters, Opal Ingmire and Maxine Sites; and a

grandson, Scott Crawford.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Gerard

Catholic Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral

Home, where a wake service will be held at 8 p.m.
