MRS. MARY SAFFELL

    Mrs. Mary D. Saffell, 74, of Rehoboth, a retired interior decorator, died at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 5) in Good Samaritan Hospital where she had been a patient for three weeks.

    She was born Jan. 14, 1893, in Clayton Township, Perry County, a daughter of Al and Sarah Wiswell Kokensparger, and had spent most of her life in Rehoboth.

    Mrs. Saffell was a member of Rehoboth Methodist Church, its WSCS, 50 year member of Rehoboth Grange and belonged to Pomona and State granges, Clayton Garden Club, Business and Professional Women's Club in New Lexington, and was active in the Cancer Crusade.

    Surviving are a son, Harold, of New Lexington; two daughters, Miss Marjorie Saffell of the home and Mrs. Rosalie Whittington of Reynoldsburg; four grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Lottie Loughman of Lakewood, Fla., Mrs. Nellie Denny and Mrs. Blanche Pratt, both of New Lexington, Mrs. Anna Haller of Newark, and Mrs. Isabelle Hennen of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and two brothers, Homer of Mount Healthy and Clyde Kokensparger of New Lexington. Her husband, Ray, died in 1966.

    Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Rehoboth Methodist Church with Rev. Wanneta White and Rev. O. D. Schaffer officiating. Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery.

    Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Roberts Funeral Home in New Lexington.
