These are copies of the pages from Judge Elias Smith's Journal, First Probate Judge for the Utah Territory who married and then recorded the marriage of Charles Barker and Frances Kitchen Barker in his personal journal.  This record was found 4th August 1999 as I was attending a genealogy seminar at BYU in a book just published by the UGA, 'Marriages in Utah Territory 1850 - 1884 from The Deseret News 1850 - 1872 and The Elias Smith Journals 1850 - 1884'.  A copy of the book is in my possession.  Click on any of the thumbnail images below and it will be enlarged for you to read.  Copies of these journal entries are in the possession of Shyrlane Barker Catmull.
