Discussion
James Perkins could have come from either the present Virginia or West Virginia areas. Although there are a number of Perkins in Virginia in the early 1800s, James has not yet been attached to any of them.
Margaret Williams (maiden name from daughter Sallie's death certificate) certainly married John Wolohan in New Jersey, most likely in Gloucester Co., the only area that consistently has Wolohans. They then appear to have moved to the Pittsburgh area, arriving in time for the 1840 census. John died 7 May 1849 at age 41 in Pittsburg, PA, according to the West Jerseyman newspaper. Margaret moved to Richmond, Indiana with her two children. The family still has an 1804 sampler by Ann Williams.
