I found this comment moving. I am of european descent, but have visited china 5 times in the past 3 years, and love its history, people and culture. I am ashamed at the european prejudices that have surfaced towards the chinese in the past and present.
I am curious to know if "Toishan" is the same as "Taishan". I have lived in Taishan City (southwest of GZ 2.5 hours by bus), and it is known as a site where many people have immigrated to the west, but want to be sure it is the same thing. Can you help? Thanks.
