Shantou (汕頭)is part of Chaozhou (潮州)and is in NE Guangdong Province near the Fujian border. Guangzhou on the other hand is north of Hong Kong.
Do you have the Chinese characters for Phua Leng or perhaps the Hanyu Pinyin?
