I have been trying to trace my Chinese bloodlines for quiet a long time.
My grand father's name is TIAO KENG YAP. According to my mother, he came from Amoy, China. He was brought by his father (Juan Yap) here in the Philippines at around 1915 and stayed in Busuanga Island, Palawan after moving from places like Cuyo Island (Palawan), Mindoro, and Romblon. His Filipino name is Jose Yap. His brother who came back to China is Tiao Lai Yap (Yap Tiao Lai). His sisters here in the Philippines are Beneta Yap Arceo, Ana Yap Sandoval, Rosario Yap Quitolio, and Porqueria Yap Nadado and his only brother - Ignacio Yap. According to my mother5, my grandfather have relatives in Romblon and Davao. My aunt was able to meet some relatives from Romblon whose surname was Yap-Fetalvero.
I am living here in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan working for Gawad Kalinga.
