Larry,

I believe the Sy, Ong and Ng family clan names all have roots in Fujian Province in China. Perhaps you have heard of and may even be related to Henry Sy of the infamous SM Malls in the Philippines. Nonetheless, in search of your ancestral village in Fujian Province, a good place to start is Ang-Khue village, Dieng-oh, municipality of Jinjiang county/city in Fujian Province. (Ang is a transliteration of Ong, so I suspect Ang-Khue village comprise mostly of the Ong family clan name.) This information I extracted from an interesting online news article about Henry Sy.....take a look at this most interesting article at weblink: http://www.newsflash.org/2004/02/be/be003291.htm
Hope this helps you. Good luck in your genealogical search.......

Raymond
