I am researching my wife's family surname. The Manderin English spelling is Chui, but her father says the Hakka English spelling is Hew (with a strong "H" sound. Her ancestors came from the Guangdong Prov. in a town called Meizhou or Mei-Xian, in a district called Yau-Sung. Her grandfather left with his 3 brothers and her father to Thailand in 1949. I want to learn more about her ancestors and their desendants. Mostly for our children. I do family research on my many families, but I am just now learning about the Chiu family history.
