There should be many tecson in Cebu, because there were 3 chinese from Amoy, China in the mid-17century who migrated to the Philippines. They first landed in Bataan in Luzon, but was informed chinese are not welcome in Manila. They proceeded to Cebu and foundout, it was not develope for the 3 of them. The eldest stayed in Cebu while the 2 other brothers returned to Bataan and establish trading post near the Pampanga river. Using the river the youngest chinese went into the interior and traded with the natives. He was able to reached all the way to Candaba, Pampanga, where he planted watermellon in Pinak. He leared to a business in San Miguel, Bulacan trading cattle used as food in the Galleon Trade with Acupulco. He changed his chinese name Son Tek, converted to Catholic and took the name Jose Tecson. He became rich because of this trade and became a landlord in San Miguel, Bulacan. When the war between England and Spain broke, a gun power factory was established in the church of San miguel, Jose Tecson and natives where utilized by the Spaniard delivering the gun power to the battle from in Meycauyan and Cainta in Rizal.
Seven years after the war between Spain and England, jose tecsons loyalty was recognized by the Spaniards and he was designated Gobernadorcillo or Mayor of San Miguel, Bulacan.
