Could you explain why/ how did these 2 surnames came to be together? I'm hakka which in hakka, is pronounced as 'Ng', but in mandarin, its' pronounced as 'Wu'. Is this just because of the dialect?

I understand that my grandfather was from Shantew (in Hakka), Guangdong/ Kwantung/ Canton? Are these all the same place?

Anyway, my gradfather's name is Ng Kim Sin. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks.
