I'm wondering if anyone can help me with the origin of my last name? We pronounce it like jou with a hard j.
I know that it is a Dutch translation of the Chinese name. In Dutch, the "j"'s are pronounced like the English "y". Does that mean that my last name was originally pronounced something like "yow"??? If it will help any I know what the symbol looks like. So I can send a bitmap file of it.
