if you find anything out please let me know - i'm also toisan, my grandfather, who recently passed away, came here when he was 12 in 1937. However, he wrote a biography of his trip coming here on the boat, and in it says his grandfather (my great-great grandfather) was born in the US, and descirbes his village in toisan as being very small (maybe only 20 families) but that the villiage where all the families with Yuen as a last name lived nearby. hope this helps.

: : i am interested in researching family tree for my 3 children (husband chinese) any info. on these family names or the village?

: To Whom It May Concern:

: My father's last name is NG and he is originally from a village in China called Toisan, we speak Toisanese at home. Am planning a trip to China/HongKong in mid March would like to visit the village that my father came from. However, my father passed away in 1998 I would like to find map of where Toisan village might be located. I know it is So. China as opposed to No. China. Please email me with any info. and I will help you with Ng in my family as well.
