: I'm looking for anyone with Hokkien ancestors who emigrated to North Borneo from China in roughly the late 1800s.

: My great-great grandfather was one of them with the surname Tay. I have not much information about this ancestor as my grandfather passed away when I was very young and didn't tell the rest of his family much anyway!

: I would like to get in touch with people who share the same problem and who are interested in finding their ancestral roots.

Another form of TAY is TEH. A good deal depends upon who rendered the Chinese sounds into English. You should check the Chinese Characters if you have them. Otherwise, it is unlikely you will find much.
