: I found a new message board that comes with a search engine. your can even create a new category. should be quite fun. heres the url: http://www.chineseroots.com/xungen/english/messageBoard/main.jsp

I looked at your company and it seems that there is a lot of useful information there. It's nice to hear that the Shanghai library and others has so many genealogical records; maybe some of those destroyed during the Cultural Revolution were actually saved by librarians.

I have always been interested in my family's history and have numerous accounts from my parents about famous members. I certainly enjoy my parents' accounts of how members of the clan would gather from overseas and different provinces once every twenty years to update the genealogical records and enjoy good food and maybe even a free Chinese Opera show. Alas, it's a pity that thousand year tradition ends. And it's even more pitiful when records meticulously updated gets burned in a burst of chaos. Although my family's genealogical records were preserved, many others were destroyed. I was especially happy to read that perhaps some of them were not destroyed and rather preserved. My own search continues since my family settled in my ancestral village in order to take up his official post. I hope to check my ancestor's home-village to see if any further genealogical records can be found. Hopefully the names of the village has not changed and the village is still there.

Good Luck to all in their search.
