I have recently began my search for my "roots". My grandparents are from Fuzhou, Fujian China with the last name of "Hong" (flood), tt is now pronounced as Ang in Fukianess. Any ideas how I should start my search?

Answer: Start asking your grandparents and parents about family. Take notes on your computer and organize your info. Sometimes the smallest cues are given from family stories. Ask why and where they immigrated? What was their occupations? Any portraits and birth or other dates. Any other oral history...Where did they come from in Fuzhou...got an address of the family home...look to other relatives who may have the answers...Go to the library and research the area in Fukien and Fuzhou...
