Shanghang is located about 120km (as the crow flies) WNW of Xiamen city near the Guangdong border.
To find out about the origins of surnames Tong2 and Zhang go to www.chineseroots.com and select English. On the next screen go to the bottom left hand corner box and enter in turn each of these surnames. Tong2 is the second surname and Zhang is the first in their respective display screens.

: Does anybody have any information on the history of my family name tong2 (child)? As far as I know, my ancestors' village is in Shanghang, Fujian. My grandfather's surname is tong2 while my grandmother's surname is zhang1 (long bow). Information on the tong2 clan, zhang1 clan or information on Shanghang will also be appreciated. Thank you.
