I am trying to put together bits and pieces of my family history. I am looking
for an uncle between 45 and 55 years old. He was born in the US during the
Invasion on NanKing, China by the Japanese. My grandfather left China with 2 other wives
and five children to make money in the USA. Upon learning of the invasion of NanKing by the
Japanese, he thought all of them had died. During the 3 years and 8 months of no communciaton
with any family members, he married again. He lived in various places in the US. No name of the
third wife was given. His only comment to his second wife (my biological grandmother) was that
the 3rd wife was either dark skinned or black. One son was born.
My grandfather migrated from California to Oklahoma City to Fort Worth, Texas. During the
early 1960's, he became a deputy in Texas. He left for China in 1963 where he died.
One of his names is Kim Wing Lee. "Lee" is a false last name because at the time, his father
bought birth certificates to come to America. The surname was "Lee".
As a result, my last name is Lee. I am in the process of changing it back to Louis (thunder).
"Louis" is how he spelled it when he came to America. Therefore, I will maintain his spelling.
I work at the New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
If anyone has any connection or information to anything that I have
written, please contact me. I want to learn as much about my family as possible.
There is a lot of rich history (good and bad) that I find fascinating.
My name is Des Lee (will change to Willem DW Louis).
Thank you for your time.
My Email address (may not be accessible) is Des Lee@PEDI@NEMC
