Jeanie Chooey Low, author of China Connection will conduct two family history workshops On April 21 & 28, 10AM-11AM at the Asian Branch - Oakland Public Library at 388 - 9th Street, Suite 190, Oakland, CA 94607. (510-238-3400). In 1992, Jeanie started researching her family history when she discovered that four generations of family resembled her maternal Greatgrandmother. Her workshops are for Chinese Americans needing instructions for basic genealogical research and accessing immigration documents such as the Angel Island records and Immigration and Naturalization casefiles aka "A-Files" and gravestone translation with bilingual aids, with a special emphasis for the period of the Chinese Exclusion Act 1882-1943.
