Surname - Hung

I'm interested in chasing my father's family back into China.
The name has been spelt "Hung" as long as we can find it.
I'd like to know if there's any connection to Hung Hsui Ch'uan�(1814-64) who led the Taiping rebellion in 1853.
Maybe there's a way of working forward from him?
I understand James Hung came to Australia from China in around 1860.
Can anyone help?
